Intermediate, 2-3 Hours, 6 Mile Round Trip

Description

Start off launching from the Gig Harbor public boat ramp at Randall Drive. You will head to your left, southeast out of the harbor. Once you round the lighthouse at the mouth of the harbor you will turn left and head north along the shore. This leg of the paddle is more exposed so be prepared for some choppy water. Just under two miles north of the harbor you will arrive at the 2,000 feet of shoreline of Sunrise Beach Park, a lovely place to picnic and enjoy the view. Plan on the return paddle taking a bit longer.

Special Considerations

Gig Harbor is a busy harbor, be mindful of boaters.

Going Farther

You can spend some time exploring the harbor on your way back in if you are not quite ready to get off of the water. Stop by the lighthouse and visit any of the several downtown parks.
